Amigurumi Crochet Patterns
Amigurumi is the Japanese art of crocheting small stuffed creatures. Almost every piece is worked in a continuous spiral of single crochet, shaped with increases and decreases, then stuffed and sewn together.
If you can make a magic ring, you can make everything on this page. Each pattern lists the stitch count for every round, and we mark where to place the eyes before you close the head.

Amigurumi FAQ
What yarn is best for amigurumi?
A smooth worsted or DK cotton or acrylic. Cotton gives crisp stitches. Acrylic is softer and cheaper. Avoid fluffy yarns until you are confident, because the stitches are hard to see.
Why does my stuffing show through?
Your stitches are too loose. Use a hook one or two sizes smaller than the yarn label suggests, so the fabric is dense.
Are safety eyes safe for babies?
Not for children under three. Embroider the eyes with yarn or floss instead. Every amigurumi pattern here shows where to embroider them.
